Independence Day of the USA | 07.07.2007
Blue, blue sky suddenly became gray and heavy clouds appeared under my head... Then tiny drops stated to fall on the ground...slowly and then more and more boldly.
To be honest, rain didn't appear in lists of the planned affairs for the “American Independence Day Picnic". By the way, the organizer of this holiday is none other than the “American Chamber of Commerce”. “Am Cham” as it is known has sponsored this event for the past 14 years. Proceeds from the event are distributed to charitable organizations throughout Ukraine.
This years Independence Day Picnic was held at the air field Chaika, “The Seagull”.
Participants could take part in a number of sporting games and cultural activities. Some even meant to help improve your physical condition. What is interesting is that all these events were free of charge. Trampolines and frisbees were everywhere. Also everyone had an opportunity to eat some ice-cream or drink something absolutely free. The youngest guests were surrounded by clowns and as a special treat, Ronald McDonald was there! On the main stage there was music, various competitions, and finally a huge raffle with thousands of dollars of prizes given away by the sponsors.
Wind, thunder, and rain weren’t able to spoil that holiday mood. If this year you weren’t able to visit this magic celebration of Independence Day, don’t worry, you'll be able to do it next year again. You won't regret it!
